Parish Council Minutes

December 2, 2007

 

 

Attendance: Father Jacques, father David, Ed Fechtel, Frank Milward, Maxine Guerrera, Berti Lopez, David Gomez, John Timmons, Hank Wright, Evelyn Tejadas

Excused: Monica Muller, John Benca, Charles Dolan, Terry Trotochaud

 

1. Meeting opened with a Prayer. The Council adopted the Agenda with times.  Hank moved to approve the minutes, John Timmons seconded.

    

 

2. Rezoning request passed the Planning Commission 7 to 2.    Council members were encouraged to attend the County Commissioner meeting on Dec 4th. 

 

3. Committee Reports

Nursery Issue:  Becky was invited to attend the Council meeting but could not attend.  Updates are needed with proposals.

 

            Capital Campaign:  No new figures. Rewrote FAQ update status and gave it to

Communication Committee.   Jan 26-27 are target dates to have ready for the Parish. We need a realistic timeframe for project.

 

Archbishops Annual Appeal:  219 pledges for $6,100. Every two week put a bulletin update and announce from the pulpit.

            Use the newsletter to update on property and annual appeal.

 

Hospitality: The Social committee had a good turn out at the last event. We need to identify a new Social director.  Max was concerned that once again, no Christmas Party was planned.  Suggested we start planning better for big events like the Parish Picnic. Hank will compose a list of needs and send by email.

           

 

Election Committee:  Charles Dolan accepted the appointment to Chair an Elections Committee to handle elections this year.

 

 Ministry Reports

School:  We anticipate a Development Director will be coming in the Spring.

 

Communications: The Newsletter is expanding. Amanda Wilson is doing a great job. We Moved website and changed web added. Improvements include a web camera in chapel.

 

            Maintenance:  No report

 

            Liturgy: No report. Need to appoint a Council member

 

            Hispanic: Dec 9th Bilingual mass.  Many events planned for Lady of Guadalupe.

 

            Finance: Still needing part time financial position.

 

4. Review New Logos

            Several Versions reviewed.  John Timmons suggested the lily version because it

             is simple.  Also discussed one logo for both the church and school to create

             unity.

 

5. Approved draft of the “Expectations of Council Members”

 

 

6. Adjourn with a prayer led by Father David.
