Parish Council Minutes

April 13th, 2008

 

 

Attendance: Father David, Father Jacques,Ed Fechtel, Frank Milward, Berti Lopez, David Gomez, John Timmons, Hank Wright, Evelyn Tejadas, Terry Trotochaud, John Benca, Charles Dolan,

 

 

1.      Minutes of previous meeting were not reviewed and were tabled for next meeting

 

2.      Parish Council elections

. Ballots were organized, counted and verified by all members present

. 4 newly elected Parish Council members for a 3 year term (2011):

            . Mark Valentine

            . George Gazda

            . Ellen Jackson

            . Mary Mellein

            . (5th position runner up for the case of an additional vacant seat: Ben Williams)

. The 4 newly elected members will be invited by the President for an orientation

 

3.      Nursery:

. Topic tabled for next meeting with a review of parishioner survey

 

4.      Hospitality:

. The list of parish committees was reviewed. The booklet will be posted on the web site for comments prior to May 1st 2008.

. Objective: Finalize booklet of committees at nest meeting before handing it off to Communication Committee for publication

. It was proposed that 2 new committees be created:

            . Hospitality committee

            . New property management committee

 

5.      Capital Campaign

. 5 state of the school meetings were organized and conducted in a collaboration between Donovan Yarnell and his school staff and the capital campaign committee. These meetings assembled parents and teachers to provide key school information for next year as well as expand information on Forward in Faith

. The new development Director, Debbie Rossiter, will be arriving during the first week of May

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6.      Bylaws

. The latest version of the bylaws was approved unanimously by the Council

. The new by-laws will go into effect June 1st, 2008

. The importance of encouraging regular attendance was discussed.

. Any further changes are to be submitted in writing prior to next Council meeting

 

7.      Conference of Parish Organizations

. The organization of this important conference was tabled until the next meeting

 

8.      Next Meeting

. The meeting originally scheduled on May 11th is moved to May 18th to take into account Mother’s Day celebration       

    

9.       Adjourn with a prayer led by Father David.
