Parish Council Minutes

March 9th, 2008

Attendance: Father Jacques, Father David, Ed Fechtel, Frank Milward, Berti Lopez, David Gomez, John Timmons, Hank Wright, Evelyn Tejadas, Terry Trotochaud, John Benca, Charles Dolan,

Guest: Becky Olson

1. Minutes of previous meeting were approved

2. Nursery:

. The project prepared by Becky Olson and Berti Lopez were presented and discussed

. The project encompassed three areas: the physical space, the internal structure, the process

. The nursery service would be based on hired trained personnel (students) supported by volunteers

. The start up costs are estimated to be $1600 and the annual operating costs around $7200. It is anticipated that these costs would be paid by the Church operating expenses and not by user fees.

. It was recommended that the proposal be finalized and submitted to Father for approval

3. New Property:

. The project submission to the Planning Commission was tabled pending required additional information

. This adds 2-3 months delay in the submission

. Groundbreaking will occur April 13^th

4. Election Committee

. Charles Dolan presented the plans for the Parish Council Elections

. 10 candidates

. Elections will be held at all Masses April 12 th and 13^th

5. Mission statement and parish organizations

. No discussion on mission statement

. List of Parish ministers in preparation. Difficulty with rapidly changing list of volunteers in certain committees

. The draft list will be circulated to the various groups and ministries prior to finalization (Hank Wright).

6. Bylaws

. The latest version of the bylaws was reviewed and discussed

. The importance of encouraging regular attendance was discussed.

. Any further changes are to be submitted in writing prior to next Council meeting
