EXPECTATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE PARISH COUNCIL

 

 

Elected members of the Parish Council (“Council”) are representatives of the Parishioners of Saint Joseph at the meetings. Through the process of nomination and election, Parishioners select members of the Parish who desire to serve them on the Council and accept the expectations of Council Membership.

 

It is a privilege and an honor be chosen for service on the Council.  Only those Parishioners who are willing to devote the necessary time and effort to the work of the Council should accept nomination. Council meeting are held monthly, and it is expected that Council members will attend and will serve on Council Committees. Moreover, Parish Council membership is more than just attending meetings. Council members are   expected to spend time outside of meeting and be engaged in various assignments and activities (at least 2-3 hours per week).

 

Parish Council members should be visible and accessible to the Parishioners who elected them .Also, Council members should take steps to enhance two-way communications in the manner prescribed by the Council.
