Greeters: Beginning 15 minutes prior to mass, Greeters warmly welcome people at the front doors to St. Joseph. Greeters also answer any general questions or provide assistance by opening the doors to the Church for all who enter. Greeters attend to any special needs of persons who are entering the Church for worship.
Ushers: Prior to Mass, Ushers are responsible for making sure the Church is prepared for each service. Ushers also welcome people for worship. Ushers make sure that the Altar Servers, Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers have arrived. Ushers identify a family for bringing the gifts to the altar during the offertory. Once Mass begins, Ushers are responsible for maintaining the solemnity of the liturgy by helping latecomers find seats without disrupting the liturgy. Ushers are responsible for taking up all collections, organizing the offertory procession, directing the order of the procession to communion, and passing out bulletins after Mass. After Mass, Ushers are responsible for safely storing the collections and securing the Church.
