Re: Needs Assessment & Priority Reports Summary/Compilation

Thank you for attending and giving your subcommittee reports at our meeting last week. As we reviewed and compiled the summary/compilation report it became readily apparent that many people have been working very hard and a great deal has been accomplished in a relatively short period of time.

The primary purpose of this memo is to let you know that the summary/compilation report is now available for you review and use.

We also want to call several other things to your attention:

    1. If, after reviewing the summary/compilation report, you find that information gleaned from the individual reports has been unintentionally omitted or misrepresented, please let us know.
    2. We understand that the Parish Council is considering taking a parish census during August. Because accurate information and data are so essential to our parish planning efforts, we may have to modify our overall schedule so that we can take advantage of census data etc.
    3. July is vacation time for so many people (including members of the Planning Team) so our July 12 meeting with subcommittee co-chairs will most likely be changed. As your schedules permit, however, we encourage subcommittees to continue to meet to identify goals and strategies for meeting those goals.
    4. As you meet to identity goals and strategies, be sure to communicate and work with other subcommittees that have goals etc. that may influence your subcommittee goals and strategies.
    5. You are invited to the next meeting of the Planning Team to be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 5:30 in the Teachers’ Trailer. Among other things, we will be seeing a presentation by a member of the Hispanic community on that community's needs and issues.
    6. We want to once again emphasize that we have been assured by Father McGuinness no decisions have yet been made on the future of our parish, and that any critical decisions about the future of St. Joseph Parish will be contingent upon what parishioners agree are wanted and/or needed.
    7. Finally, we recognize that a planning process that involves so many people and such important issues/needs is not always easy. We welcome your input and suggestions about ways it can be enhanced.

Thank you again for all your hard work and efforts. If additional information or clarification about anything is needed, please let any member of the planning team know.
