Planning Our Future Together

Progress Report
April 25, 2004

Almost two months have gone by since more than 200 parishioners came together to share their thoughts about parish needs and issues. Since that time, a second parish-wide meeting was convened, committees were formed and many meetings held to begin addressing those needs and issues. The purpose of the Planning Our Future Together Progress Report is to keep parishioners informed about planning efforts and to invite your participation in these efforts.

  • Planning Team and Subcommittees: Father McGuinness has appointed a Planning Team to oversee and facilitate the planning process. Nine subcommittees have also been established to work closely with existing parish committees to further assess needs, suggest priorities, identify goals, and to develop strategies to achieve those goals.

  • Communications: Several things have already been or will be put in place to allow for timely and accurate information to be shared with parishioners:

    • Planning Our Future Together Progress Report to be inserted in the Sunday bulletin every two weeks;

    • Planning Our Future Together Bulletin Board on which Subcommittees are listed (along with the names of co-chairs), the times and locations of Subcommittee meetings, meeting summaries, and other items in which parishioners might be interested;

    • St. Joseph Website to be used for sharing and receiving information;

    • Suggestion Box located in the parish office to be used by those who have ideas and suggestions they want to share with the Planning Team and/or Subcommittees.

Planning Our Future Together is open to everyone. The Planning Team and Subcommittees invite anyone interested in participating in this undertaking to contact Planning Team members and/or Subcommittee co-chairs to volunteer. Thank you for your interest and involvement. They are both needed and very much appreciated.
